Gregory Owens opened Hijo de su Madre to share his mother’s recipes with the LA community. The restaurant offers a modern vegan take on Mexican street food with a selection of traditional Yucatecan dishes as well. The Papadzules and LA Brat Burrito are our favorites! Vinh Loi Tofu

Vinh Loi Tofu is iconic for many reasons. For starters, the restaurant offers delicious Southeast Asian fare ranging from noodles and stir fries to soups and sandwiches. On top of that, owner Kevin Tran is the most welcoming, entertaining host. Our advice? Always go with Kevin’s recommendations and come hungry!
