10 Vegan Meal Delivery Services to Try in 2022

These meal delivery companies have everything you need to get the new year started on a healthy note.

The new year has arrived, which means many of us are setting intentions to eat healthier, practice mindfulness, and work on our goals. Whether you’re taking the Veganuary challenge or just need more options for balanced and convenient plant-based meals, these vegan meal delivery services have you covered. They provide fresh, plant-based ingredients straight to your door and include instructions on how to prepare them (or come already prepared), so you can enjoy nutritious vegan meals every day. Here are 10 vegan meal delivery services to try in 2022!

Territory Foods

Territory tailors ready-to-eat meals to your dietary preferences, making lunch and dinner easy and stress-free. Just choose vegan under meal preferences, and then select up to 12 meals, which are delivered twice weekly to ensure freshness. Vegan options include meals like Ethiopian-style lentils with braised collards over brown rice, and veggie enchiladas in salsa roja with black beans and peas. While they are a vegan-friendly company, Territory never uses gluten, dairy, or refined sugars in their products.

Purple Carrot

Purple Carrot, a fully vegan meal subscription service, brings healthy meal kits straight to your door. Subscribers can also choose already prepared meals and can skip, pause, or cancel deliveries at any time. Purple Carrot offers a variety of tasty breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and dinners. A sampling of meals includes spinach artichoke grilled cheese with hot pepper mayo and oregano fries, Taiwanese tofu lettuce cups with dates and gingered Jasmine rice, and roasted sweet potatoes with spicy cashew sauce and kraut—yum!

Purple Carrot

Veestro, a 100% plant-based meal delivery service, delivers anywhere in the continental US. The meals come fully prepared—just pop ‘em in the oven! Choose from two options—Weight Loss and A la Carte—each of which includes tasty plant-based entrées like Southwest BBQ chick’n, red curry with tofu, and soba noodles in peanut sauce. Just want to give Veestro a try? A La Carte is the perfect choice, as it is a one-time-only order and not a subscription option. Weight Loss, on the other hand, is a recurring plan that can be paused or canceled at any time.

Sometimes we just need the cooking done for us, and Sprinly is here to do just that! This meal-delivery company offers organic plant-based meals delivered straight to your door, no food prep required! Choose from dishes like pasta primavera with gluten-free pasta & cashew parm, Mediterranean veggie kofta crumble with vegan tzatziki & cucumber tomato salad, and much more. You also have the option to receive meals weekly, skip, or cancel at any time. Once your Sprinly order arrives, all that’s required of you is to heat, eat, and enjoy!

Splendid Spoon

Splendid Spoon provides plant-based, gluten-free, GMO-free, and ready-to-eat meals that are designed to help you live your best life. Choose from a variety of smoothies, soups, grain bowls, and more. If you’re looking for an extra boost to your daily routine, you can also add a Wellness Shot to your order. The meal delivery service offers a monthly subscription, which can be paused or canceled at any time. There is also an option to purchase a non-subscription On-Demand Box, where you can order items such as smoothies, noodle bowls, and protein bars as a one-time purchase.

Splendid Spoon

One Potato

As one of our favorite vegan-friendly meal delivery services for newbies, One Potato offers organic meal boxes, which can be ordered in two, three, four, five, or six servings per meal and are delivered two-three times per week based on the plan you select. Vegan meal options include vegan tikka masala, vegan burgers and fries, vegan pizza with salad, vegan tacos, and a vegan gado-gado bowl with marinated Nasoya tofu, Lotus forbidden rice, veggies and shoyu vinaigrette. Subscribers also have the option to add in extras like smoothies or protein breakfast cookies with chocolate chips.

Green Chef

Green Chef provides organic, prepped ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes to make delicious lunches and dinners any day of the week. Simply select the plant-powered plan, number of people in your household, and meals per week to get started on your first box. The plant-powered plan features vegan meals like pinto bean patties in creamy chimichurri sauce, za’atar tahini quinoa bowls, and penne with mushroom cream sauce. Green Chef is a weekly subscription service with the option to skip weeks, swap recipes, or cancel anytime.

Green Chef

Freshly offers anywhere from 4-12 meals per week, starting at $11.79 per meal. The company’s plant-based line features meals like Indian-spiced chickpea curry bowls, unwrapped salsa verde burritos, and farmstead baked lentil pasta. Be sure to check the ingredients when selecting from the plant-based options, as some of the meals contain honey.

Sakara is a meal delivery service that specializes in chef-crafted, nutrient-dense, and globally inspired plant-based meals. Best-selling programs include the 30-day reset (available until January 24) and the signature nutrition program, which features two- to five-day meal plans as well as the option to purchase a recurring weekly subscription or a one-time program. Since some of the meals contain honey, be sure to select “sweetener allergy” when purchasing your plan, in which honey and all sweeteners will be substituted out of any meals. You can also select honey as a single ingredient and then only honey would be removed from meals (available for East and West Coast subscribers only).

Thistle’s mission is to make plant-based nutrition enjoyable and easily accessible, which is why the company has been delivering nutritious, chef-crafted meals to families in California, the Southwest, and Northwest since 2013. Thistle offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, as well as a variety of juices, snacks, and wellness shots (available for customers who fall into the local delivery zone only). Customers have the option of choosing delivery between 3-6 days per week, and can adjust, pause, or cancel their subscriptions anytime. While those who fall into the local delivery zone have the option to choose their meals, Thistle has created a preset plan of six meals per week for shipping customers.

Cafe Gratitude

Southern California Only

This popular plant-based restaurant offers SoCal residents the option to purchase a three- or six-day balanced meal plan that includes a full day’s worth of delicious and filling meals. Meal plans can be ordered as a one-time purchase or as a subscription, which includes a savings of 10%. Choose from dishes such as tofu breakfast scrambles and spicy coconut Caesar salad with tempeh and pickled vegetables, as well as add-ons like fresh pressed juices, wellness shots, hummus, soups, and more.

Tofu Tikkā Recipe

Tikkā is a northern Indian dish involving marinated protein or vegetables cooked in a tandoor, or clay oven. My version is made with marinated tofu baked on skewers in a conventional oven to mimic the traditional cooking vessel, which adds a char and smokiness to the dish. Using smoked paprika further pays tribute to the traditional cooking technique. This tikkā is best served hot with cooling mint chutneys and is delicious in lettuce wraps as well. For lettuce wraps, dice the tofu and vegetables into smaller pieces after cooking and fill the lettuce leaves just before serving.
