The Game Changers changed the way a lot of people think about protein, plant-based diets, and working out. The documentary was released in 2019 and featured several prominent professional vegan athletes and bodybuilders. Plant-based startup Meati Foods has had a busy year acquiring investors and distributing their mushroom-based vegan meats. Earlier this year, Meati partnered with celebrity chef Rachael Ray to bring awareness to their products. Made primarily from mushroom roots, Meati’s products are different from many of the other alternative meats on the market that are made with soy and wheat proteins. Former professional baseball player and successful entrepreneur Derek Jeter is just the latest big name to attach themselves to Meati as the brand continues its rapid growth.
