Ypsilanti, Michigan Welcomes New Vegan Italian Restaurant
Vegano Italiano is serving up plant-based pizzas, sandwiches, and pastas in Southeast Michigan.
Ypsilanti, Michigan welcomes new vegan Italian restaurant—Vegano Italiano. The all-vegan Italian eatery is owned and operated by lifetime plant-based eater and New York City native Maryrose Angelo. The Italian-inspired menu features pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, and baked goods—and the Southeast Michigan community is eating it up, both literally and figuratively.
Vegan Italian Cuisine
Specializing in vegan Italian cuisine, Vegano Italiano has the hookup on plant-based fare inspired by this Mediterranean country. Ypsi diners may choose several courses of tasty Italian eats from appetizers and salads to sandwiches, traditional entrees, and pizzas. Appetizers include fried meatballs and eggplant cutlets, while sandwich lovers can choose options like meatball subs and loaded gyros. The menu includes a variety of salads along with traditional Italian entrees such as vegetable lasagna and pesto pasta. For the vegan pizza connoisseurs, the plant-based eatery offers a variety of specialty pizzas like buffalo chicken ‘za and an irresistible breakfast pizza. Creative vegans may also build a custom pizza pie with a variety of sauces, cheeses, veggie toppings, and even plant-based meatballs. Pizzas and other cheesy menu options use house-made almond ricotta along with Violife cheeses—we see you, plant-based mozzarella and smoked provolone. And we can’t sleep on the dessert. Vegano Italiano has a decadent treat selection including banana coconut bread and tasty seasonal cookies.
This vegan-friendly Ypsilanti restaurant offers takeout rather than dine-in service. For those lucky local Michiganders, the eatery also delivers within a two-mile radius. Vegano Italiano opened earlier this October and keeps the following schedule: Wednesday and Thursday from 3-8pm, Friday and Saturday from 12-9pm, and Sunday from 11am-6pm Check this tasty destination off your plant-based bucket list while eating your way through the other vegan-friendly establishments near the Michigan thumb—hello, plant-based food trucks and vegan brick-and-mortars! Vegano Italiano is located at 530 North Huron St, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
