The first Black, woman-owned vegan food truck is hitting the streets of Raleigh, North Carolina!
In May, Epic Vegan Food Truck debuted in Raleigh, North Carolina. The full-service food truck offers classic comfort food staples like vegan chicken and vegan ribs, as well as vegan desserts and Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshakes. In addition to plant-based bites, the truck also provides unique experiences for its guests, which include live music and activities such as fitness boot camps. Epic Vegan also supports other small vegan businesses through its supply chain and by offering vending opportunities at its events.
Southern Roots in Vegan Food
The founder of Epic Vegan Food Truck, Kibri Hutchison Everett, incorporates her Southern roots into the vegan food she serves. The menu includes many of her childhood favorites, such as fried chick’n, okra, fried fruit pies, and biscuits, as well as innovative items like the vegan fried chick’n donut sandwich. Guests also have the opportunity to feast on options like Classic Carolina Burgers, breakfast sandwiches, Cherry BBQ Ribz, and more.
Raleigh-Durham’s First All-Vegan Juicery
Everett created Raleigh-Durham’s first all-vegan juicery and eatery—Pure Juicery & Vegan Food Bar—in 2018. After selling the business in 2020, she founded Epic Vegan Food Truck as a way to provide vegan meals to more people across North Carolina and regionally. When she isn’t running her food truck, Everett works as an environmental scientist. As an entrepreneur, scientist, and vegan, Everett aims to provide plant-based meals to the masses, thereby helping the environment, reducing the carbon footprint of her customers, and saving animals.
