Cinnaholic—the create-your-own-cinnamon-roll shop—is opening its fourth Southern California location on Friday, May 21. The sweet shop is making its debut in Long Beach on the bustling stretch of 2nd Street in Belmont Shore.

The all-vegan bakery specializes in customizable, over-the-top cinnamon rolls. It first set up shop in Berkeley, CA in 2009 then skyrocketed into popularity after an appearance on the ABC hit reality show, Shark Tank. While the founders originally secured a deal for $200,000 for 40 percent equity, they pulled out. The Sharks wanted the investment to go toward nationwide shipping, but the founders are set on a brick-and-mortar expansion model.

To date, Cinnaholic has 55 franchise locations and plans to open 20 additional storefronts by the end of this year.

The Cinnaholic experience is similar to a frozen yogurt or ice cream shop that encourages customers to pick their toppings. Customers start with a gooey, oversized cinnamon roll, then have their choice of 40 different frostings and sweet accoutrements that range from basic icing to cookie dough, brownie bits to fresh fruit. The bakery also carries fresh-baked cookies, Mrs. Fields-style cookie cakes, brownies, and baby buns (bite-sized cinnamon nubs).

Follow the bakery on Instagram @cinnaholic for grand opening updates and specials.
