The all-vegan Italian spot makes its second debut with new menu items such as calamari, chicken parm, and more!

This week, plant-based deli Galioto’s reopens in NYC. Cofounded by Nicole Galioto and the JaJaJa Group, Galioto’s opened last year on Mulberry St in NYC’s Little Italy, providing a well-curated selection of plant-based Italian goods, as well as made-to-order dishes and prepared vegan specialties. Now, the restaurant makes its second debut as a chef-driven concept led by Executive Chef Mario Buccellati, formerly of Dirt Candy and Avant Garden.

A Plant-Based Take on Classic Italian Dishes

Buccellati offers a plant-based take on classic Italian dishes and prepares his own plant-based cheeses—dairy-free mozzarella, smoked provolone, and ricotta—sold individually and in sandwiches. The menu features everything from traditional spaghetti and meatballs to Italian heroes, which come stacked with dairy-free provolone, tomato, red onion, roasted garlic aioli, cherry peppers, pepperoncini, iceberg lettuce, and plant-based ham.

In addition, Galioto’s serves a variety of coffee drinks—such as cappuccinos, espressos, and lattes—brewed with beans from local coffee roaster Nueva York. Guests can also enjoy made-to-order sides, such as arancini (fried risotto balls filled with dairy-free mozzarella), plant-based calamari, garlic bread, meatballs, mozzarella in carrozza, and more. Guests looking to grab a chicken cutlet will also be delighted by the restaurant’s plant-based take on the Italian classic, as Galioto’s makes both chicken cutlets and plant-based ham in-house.

A Heated Outdoor Patio to Dine Family-Style

The space located at 131 Mulberry St, New York, NY 10013 now features a heated outdoor patio to dine family-style. For those who prefer to cook their own meal, Galioto’s also sells plant-based ingredients to prepare an Italian-style dish at home.
