Kusaki's award-winning vegan omakase experience is coming to wine country.
Healdsburg’s beloved plant-based hub, Little Saint, is bringing the best of Los Angeles' vegan scene to Sonoma County this Mother’s Day Weekend. The downtown destination will host a two-night culinary collaboration with Kusaki's Chef Pearl Steffie—fresh off her VegOut 2024 Chef of the Year win—on May 9 and 10.
Known for her elevated take on plant-based Japanese cuisine, Chef Pearl will showcase her signature omakase experience, blending seasonality, artistry, and sustainability.
“As a longtime fan, Kusaki’s plant-based omakase is unlike anything else—seasonal, elegant, and deeply expressive,” said Laurie Ubben, Founder of Little Saint. “Chef Pearl’s approach to vegan sushi offers our team a chance to expand their skills while giving our guests a unique opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine through a plant-based lens. Eating plant-based, and avoiding ocean-sourced ingredients, is one of the most impactful choices we can make in the fight against climate change. By embracing plant-based options, we reduce our reliance on overexploited marine resources, helping protect the health of our oceans and support a more sustainable future for all.”

A Weekend of Culinary Creativity
The collaboration kicks off Friday, May 9 with a five-course omakase dinner ($110 per person), featuring ingredients sourced from the nearby Little Saint Farm. Diners can elevate the evening with a $45 wine and sake pairing curated by Little Saint’s expert beverage team.
On Saturday, May 10, foodies can roll up their sleeves for the Sip & Roll Sushi Workshop ($90 per person), hosted in the upstairs space at Little Saint. No experience? No problem. Guests will learn from the best while sipping their favorite beverages and mastering vegan sushi techniques.
To cap off the weekend, Little Saint will also host a sold-out show with Perfume Genius on Monday, May 12—proving once again that Healdsburg is the place where food, music, and mission collide.
