Movie night just got so much tastier!
While fast-food chains and grocery stores are rolling out vegan items at a rapid rate, there are a few industries behind the curve—most notably, movie theaters. Most theaters have basic items like fruity candy, soft pretzels, and plain popcorn, but there is a lack of hearty plant-based options. At one movie chain, however, that’s about to change. Impossible Chicken Nuggets launch at AMC Theatres this Tuesday!
Impossible Chicken Nuggets
Since their launch in the fall of 2021, Impossible Chicken Nuggets have been rolling out at restaurants and retailers across the country. Made from soy protein, wheat flour, sunflower oil, herbs, and spices, these meat-like nuggets taste just like their animal-based counterparts. What’s the difference? Impossible Nuggets use 49% less land, 44% less water, 36% less greenhouse gas emissions, and 100% fewer animal products!
Vegan Chicken Nuggets at Participating AMC Locations Across the Country
Last week, Adam Aron, the AMC Theatres CEO took to Twitter saying, “We’ve been working for years to be able to make this announcement. Next week, we introduce at most of our AMC-brand theatres Impossible Nuggets! With crispy breading on the outside, and a tender juicy bite on the inside, it’s hard to believe they are made solely from plants.”
Beginning this Tuesday, January 12, customers will start seeing these vegan chicken nuggets at participating AMC locations across the country. We know the term “participating locations” might seem minimal but these crunchy bites are rolling out in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Vegan Options at AMC Theatres
Other vegan options at AMC Theatres include pretzel bites (without butter, seasoning, or sauce), plain popcorn (without butter), pickles, apple sauce, and a variety of vegan-friendly fruity candy such as Red Vines, Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Sour Patch Watermelon, and Twizzlers. At AMC Dine-In locations, the French fries, tater tots, onion rings, fruit cup, and side salad are all vegan-friendly.
