The beloved Bay Area vegan creator continues to bring the plant-based community together with the launch of Every Bite Counts.
This January, Erika Hazel AKA Bizerkeley Vegan launches two monthly vegan events in the Bay Area. Her new vegan event company, Every Bite Counts, brings together local plant-based vendors—with an emphasis on Black-owned companies. Stop by the Black Maker Bazaar and Bizerkeley Brunchfest for food, shopping, live music, and mingling!
Black Vegan Creator Erika Hazel
Erika Hazel is a Black vegan creator and household name for vegans and veg-curious people in the Bay Area and beyond! She posts reviews, shares recipes, and hosts inclusive vegan events. Most recently, Hazel hosted her third annual Bizerkeley Food Festival, which resulted in an epic turnout, and also displayed a need for regular plant-based events in Berkeley.
Black Maker Bazaar
Foodies can attend two different monthly events hosted by Every Bite Counts. First is Black Maker Bazaar on every second Saturday of the month. It takes place at Fourth Street Maker’s Row from 11am to 5pm. Peruse food and goods from dozens of Black-owned vendors, including bites for as low as three dollars. The event is kid- and dog-friendly with plenty of parking.
Bizerkeley Brunchfest
Every Bite Counts’ second monthly event, dubbed Bizerkeley Brunchfest, occurs on the third Sunday of every month. This festival is also located at Fourth Street Maker’s Row from 11am to 5pm with brunch-focused vendors.
Vegan Events in Berkeley
The vendor lineups for both vegan events in Berkeley have yet to be announced, but if they’re anything like Hazel’s previous festivals, you can expect to find local vendors like Plant N Soul, That Hausa Vegan, Miyoko’s Creamery, Green Flour Bakery, Raydiant Vibes, and Mossed Juicery. So, mark your calendars for January 13 and 21 to support the launch of Every Bite Counts. Fourth Street Maker’s Row is located at 1919 Fourth St Berkeley, CA 94710.
