Beyond Meat Debuts New Vegan Sausage
Beyond Meat already makes plant-based grilling easier than ever. Just in time for summer, the alternative meat brand has revamped its vegan sausage recipe! The new recipe features a meatier taste and an updated blend of spices. The updated recipe is rolling out nationwide at retailers like Kroger, Albertsons, and Publix and will be marked with a “meatier taste” logo on the packaging.
The Game Changers Sequel Is in the Works
The Game Changers changed the way a lot of people think about protein, plant-based diets, and working out. The documentary was released in 2019 and featured several prominent professional vegan athletes and bodybuilders. The sequel is now in the works and has been picked up by UNINTERRUPTED, an athlete empowerment brand founded by LeBron James. The Game Changers 2 will expand on the first film while touching on intersectional issues such as children’s health, food justice, the environment, and more.
Oatly Debuts Vegan Cream Cheese
The dairy-alternative brand is adding another product to its line of dairy-free delicacies. Oatly’s first flavors of vegan cream cheese are set to hit the shelves at US retailers at the end of the month. After a successful trial run of the vegan cream cheese in Philadelphia earlier this year, the brand wasted no time in getting the plant-based cream cheese to the masses! Look out for Oatly Plain Cream Cheese and Oatly Chive & Onion Cream Cheese at major retailers at the end of June.
Derek Jeter Invests in Plant-Based Brand Meati Foods
Plant-based startup Meati Foods has had a busy year acquiring investors and distributing their mushroom-based vegan meats. Earlier this year, Meati partnered with celebrity chef Rachael Ray to bring awareness to their products. Made primarily from mushroom roots, Meati’s products are different from many of the other alternative meats on the market that are made with soy and wheat proteins. Former professional baseball player and successful entrepreneur Derek Jeter is just the latest big name to attach themselves to Meati as the brand continues its rapid growth.
