Check out the grab-and-go offerings at this plant-based delicatessen!
Last month, the downtown district of Lakewood, a suburb of Cleveland, welcomed a new all-vegan deli concept, Black Market Meats, and we are stoked about it! Specializing in scratch-made deli fare, the plant-based delicatessen is owned and operated by long-time plant-based eater and local chef Todd Kronika and talented restaurateur Cory Hajde. Inspired by Kronika’s passion for cruelty-free cooking, Black Market Meats’ menu remains free from mainstream vegan meats and cheeses. Instead, the new vegan venture serves handcrafted meals and sides made from fresh ingredients. Get ready for some deliciously memorable deli offerings at Black Market Meats!
Lakewood, Ohio Vegan Chef Opens Black Market Meats
The Black Market Meats menu offerings range from comforting soups and fresh salads to loaded sandwiches and hearty entrees. New deli fans are already raving about the plant-based Ham & Pesto Sandwiches, German Potato Salad, and Chili Crisp Cucumbers—yum! Kronika, the chef behind the vegan options at Hajde’s cocktail bar, Cloak & Dagger, will remain a hands-on owner as he operates his first-ever fully plant-based restaurant. The duo’s new venture has taken residence in the former Little Lakewood Pasta Co. The compact space has lent perfectly to the convenient and delicious grab-and-go concept that Black Market Meats now brings to Lakewood.
Located on the shore of Lake Erie just west of Cleveland and about two hours from Columbus, Lakewood is a gorgeous Ohio city with a nice selection of vegan-friendly eateries. Whether you’re a resident of the Buckeye State or just passing through, you need to swing by Black Market Meats!
Lakewood’s newest vegan restaurant is located at 15613 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107. At this time, the plant-based eatery is open from 12-6pm. So, head over for a tasty lunch or early dinner soon. Maybe we’ll see you there! For more information, follow Black Market Meats on Instagram.
