Ubuntu: A Plant-Based Haven

Since its opening on August 1, 2023, Ubuntu has been a beacon of plant-based excellence. Headed by 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist Shenarri “Greens” Freeman and 2022 James Beard Award nominee Ravi DeRossi of Overthrow Hospitality, Ubuntu takes inspiration from West African ingredients. The menu, a testament to Chef Shenarri’s travels and roots, offers a unique twist on traditional dishes from Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, and across West Africa.

Signature dishes such as Jackfruit Yassa, Curry Jollof Arancini, Seitan Suya, and Charred Okra Salad showcase vegetables at their finest. The restaurant also boasts a curated selection of wines from Black-owned vintners, adding a touch of sophistication to the dining experience.
