The handheld can be made vegan when you omit the tartar sauce and bun.
California’s Bay Area is known for its seafood, making vegan options scarce at some restaurants. But San Francisco’s Rocketbird just launched a vegan-friendly fish burger in partnership with the plant-based seafood brand Good Catch Foods.
Plant-Based Take on a Classic Fish Burger
The Sea Bird at Rocketbird is a plant-based take on a classic fish burger made with Good Catch Foods’ Plant-Based Fish Burger, pickled red onions, tartar sauce, fresh little gem lettuce, and avocado on a potato bun. To make the handheld 100% vegan, it must be ordered without tartar sauce and as a lettuce wrap, as the bun contains animal products.
This collaboration came about in an effort to offer a fish burger with the same taste and mouthfeel of seafood without the negative environmental impact—in addition to providing a main course option for flexitarians, vegetarians, and vegans. On top of that, Rocketbird will donate a meal to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank for every Sea Bird purchased.
Vegan Options at Rocketbird
The other vegan options at Rocketbird include Vegan Mac & Cheese, Crispy Maitake Mushroom Strips, Rocketbird Slaw, Classic Fries, Rocketbird Fries, and Sidewinder Fries. In addition, the salads can be made vegan when you choose the Vegan Mustard Seed Vinaigrette dressing option and omit the crumbled bacon in the Rocketbird Salad and the feta in the Seasonal Market Salad.
Rocketbird operates as a ghost kitchen for pickup and delivery at 1030 Illinois St, San Francisco, CA 94107. For more information, visit Rocketbirdchx.com.
