The new products are already hitting shelves nationwide.

Oatly just launched two new oat milk varieties—Unsweetened Oatmilk and Super Basic Oatmilk. Crafted to meet distinct nutritional needs, both offerings maintain the beloved Oatly taste that consumers have come to love. This debut marks the company’s first major change within its core North American beverage portfolio in half a decade!

“Launching these new innovations gives consumers even more choice while furthering the plant-based movement and Oatly’s ultimate mission,” said Leah Hoxie, SVP of Innovation at Oatly North America. “As oat milk continues to move into the mainstream, now more than ever we see people unwilling to sacrifice great taste for nutrition—they’re looking for both. Our US R&D team spent nearly a year perfecting both of these oat milks to strike this balance and complement the rest of our portfolio. We’re confident these new products will live up to what people are looking for and we can’t wait for everyone to try them.”

Oatly Super Basic Oatmilk

Simplicity meets flavor in Oatly’s Super Basic Oatmilk. Crafted with just four essential ingredients—water, oats, sea salt, and citrus zest fiber—this oat milk delivers on creaminess and taste. The citrus zest fiber, an upcycled byproduct from the juice industry, not only adds texture but also stabilizes the beverage. Oatly’s Super Basic Oatmilk is a perfect harmony of simplicity and delectability.

A Shift Toward Oat and Plant-Based Milks

Oatly Unsweetened and Super Basic join Oatly’s existing lineup of non-dairy milk alternatives, including the beloved Original, Full Fat, Low Fat, Chocolate, and Barista Edition oat milks. Each variety mirrors the creamy taste, frothy feel, and functionality of cow’s milk, with the added benefit of lower environmental impact.

Mike Messersmith, President of Oatly North America, said, “At Oatly, we believe that products should serve both people and the planet well. With this in mind, changing the food system requires a mass shift from dairy to plant-based. That’s why our new oat milks were crafted to cater to different consumer preferences, like less calories, no sugar, or fewer ingredients. Ultimately, the biggest impact we can have as a business is to convert cow’s milk drinkers into oat milk buyers. The introduction of Unsweetened and Super Basic continue to help us do that.”

Consumer Trends Reflect Plant-Based Preference

A recent Oatly flash poll on US consumer milk preferences reveals a declining interest in dairy milk, with 54% of Gen Z and 49% of Millennials expressing a preference for plant-based alternatives.

Availability and Sustainability

Produced in the US, Oatly Unsweetened and Super Basic are packaged in 64oz chilled cartons, priced at a suggested retail of $5.99. These new offerings will be available at major retailers nationwide, including Albertsons, Publix, Sprouts, Target, and more, in the coming months. As with all Oatly products, these oat milks are free of the 9 major allergens, vegan, glyphosate-free, Non-GMO Project Verified, Gluten-Free Certified, and Kosher Certified.
