Catch Nic Adler of Nic's On Beverly on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
One of the most popular foodies, Guy Fieri, takes a trip to Nic’s On Beverly in Los Angeles this week to enjoy its delicious vegan fare. This marks the first vegan spot featured this season on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The episode airs Friday, December 8.
Nic’s On Beverly on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives
In this Friday’s episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Fieri travels to three different establishments—Front Yard Tacos in Mobile, Alabama; Saffron Street in Alberta, Canada; and Nic’s On Beverly in Los Angeles, California. During the Nic’s On Beverly portion of the show, restaurant owner Nic Adler cooks two recipes: Vegan Lamb Bolognese featuring Black Sheep Foods’ vegan lamb and a Lion’s Mane Asada Detroit-Style Pizza. The pizza is a brand new menu item that launches this Friday at the restaurant alongside the episode release.
Guy Fieri and Veganism
Although Fieri is known for promoting meat and other animal products, he is also very in touch with his plant-based side. When Guy’s sister Morgan was battling cancer, she adopted a vegetarian diet. She challenged her brother to make her plant-based meals, and he did. Morgan passed away in 2011, but Guy credits her for encouraging him to eat more vegetables and plant-based ingredients. Adler, who also serves as Festival Director of Goldenvoice, in addition to owning restaurants, told us that Fieri includes vegan dishes when collaborating on Stagecoach and other events.
Fieri has also featured over 40 other vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants in past seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives like The Herbivorous Butcher, Pingala Cafe, KINDRED, Veggie Galaxy, NoButcher, and more.
