The rapidly expanding fast-food chain names Steve Figliola as new Chief Development Officer.

We’re seeing more and more big-name executives join vegan companies as the movement continues to grow. Plant Power Fast Food is the latest company to acquire a big name in the industry, hiring former Starbucks executive Steve Figliola as their new Chief Development Officer.

Plant Power Fast Food Expands to Open More Locations

Over the past number of years, Plant Power has acquired several industry-leading professionals from national brands such as Chipotle, Del Taco, Hard Rock Cafe, and Yum Brands. Steve Figliola is the latest high-profile executive to join the team, and it comes at a crucial time in their development, as the brand continues to open more locations every year.

In addition to the restaurant's 10 current locations, six more are in active development, including the brand’s flagship site in Hollywood which is slated to open later this year. Twenty more stores are currently in the process of being franchised.

Figliola joins the Plant Power team after a successful stint at Starbucks as the Regional Vice President responsible for Southern California and Hawaii. He previously served as International Vice President of Development for Papa Murphy’s and the Director of Operations for Taco Bell, so his expertise in handling large-scale operations is something that Plant Power will look to as they continue to accelerate their expansion. Plant Power co-founder Jeffrey Harris said that Figliola’s extensive experience is “...undoubtedly the perfect fit for Plant Power at this critical stage of [their] journey.”

The Future Is Vegan

Plant Power isn’t the only vegan brand that is attracting big-name executives from other companies. Just last month, Beyond Meat announced the hiring of two former Tyson Foods executives to assist them with their rapid expansion. These moves from Fortune 500 companies to up-and-coming plant-based brands suggest that there is a definite and successful future in vegan brands and businesses.
