Two longtime execs at Tyson Foods have jumped ship and are now helping Beyond Meat with its global expansion.

The plant-based revolution continues! Two former Tyson executives have left the meat giant and joined Beyond Meat as it continues its global expansion and pursuit of its longtime goal to achieve price parity with animal protein.

Beyond Meat Appoints Protein Industry Veterans to Top Executive Roles as the Company Accelerates Its Global Growth Strategy

Doug Ramsey and Bernie Adcock—both of whom have been with Tyson Foods for over three decades—have recently been appointed as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Supply Chain Officer of Beyond Meat, respectively.

Ramsey served as both Group President of Poultry and President of the Global McDonald’s Business for Tyson, in which he oversaw all domestic poultry business units, as well as all sales, operations, and marketing for Tyson’s relationship with McDonald’s.

Adcock most recently served in the same position he has been appointed to: Chief Supply Chain Officer—in which he assisted in scaling Tyson’s business through the integration of innovative technologies.

Both new appointments are poised to help Beyond Meat—already the #1 selling plant-based meat brand in the US—mount an aggressively scaled production increase and commercialization across the US, Europe, and China. Beyond Meat has declared from the beginning that they hope to eventually make their products equal in price to animal-based meats, and Ramsey and Adcock have joined the team to help them do just that.

The Growth of Beyond Meat

The growth of Beyond Meat has been rapid, with the brand releasing more than a dozen new products over the last two years, and their plant-based burger patties are still one of the top vegan burger options in the game.

Most popular of their new releases has been Beyond Chicken, with mega-chain restaurants such as KFC and Panda Express offering the vegan chicken at select locations. And earlier this year, Beyond Meat teamed up with Pizza Hut to trial a vegan pepperoni, available at select Pizza Hut locations nationwide.
