Vegan Pop-Up MANEATINGPLANT Launches School Bus Food Truck in Southern California

After three years of serving the Greater Los Angeles area through community pop-ups and managing to stay afloat in 2020, the duo behind the vegan eatery, MANEATINGPLANT, has secured some significant wheels. Owners Candice Tzeng and Phil Kwan retrofitted an old school bus into an industrial-sized food truck to better serve its plant-based dumplings, buns, and noodles to its loyal fans and veg-curious customers.

MANEATINGPLANT was one of the 10 US restaurants chosen to debut OmniPork in the States beginning on Earth Day 2021. The roving kitchen created vegan pork-stuffed bao and XO dumplings to highlight this new meaty option.

The truck’s official debut has yet to be announced, but the owners promise it will hit the road soon. In the meantime, customers can find the pop-up schedule on the company’s Instagram (@maneatingplantla). Also be sure to check the account for the most updated menu, as items rotate regularly.
