Trader Joe’s Launches Spicy Vegan Pork Rinds

Bored of your current snack routine? Add Trader Joe’s Spicy Porkless Plant-Based Snack Rinds to your grazing rotation!

Trader Joe’s just added Spicy Porkless Plant-Based Snack Rinds to its shelves and hungry vegans are beyond stoked—just check out Instagram. This newly coveted plant-based snack is made with rice meal, yellow pea flour, pea protein isolate, and high-oleic sunflower oil. The snacks are seasoned with paprika, cayenne, onion, garlic, and a pinch of habanero powder—we can feel the heat from here! While these porkless rinds are oven baked, rather than fried, each crisp packs major crunchy satisfaction.

The spicy vegan pork rinds are also gluten-free and kosher-certified, making them an inclusive snack option to have on hand. Each one-ounce serving of this salty snack supplies 130 calories and 7 grams of plant-based protein per 12 curly pieces. Per our friends at Trader Joe’s, these rinds are “a sensible snack you can totally (and literally) pork-out on.” We can’t help but agree.

Plant-Based Snacking for the Win!

Traditional pork rinds (aka cracklins and chicharrones) have remained a popular snack for many years as a result of the low-carb diet movement. More recently, manufacturers have upped their plant-based snack game by adding a variety of porkless rinds to the market. Trader Joe’s newest snack will join the existing plant-based rinds from Pig Out, Beanfields, and Snacklins. Plant-based snacking for the win! This might go without saying but these taste even better than their non-vegan counterparts.

The spicy vegan pork rind snacks pair well with watching sports games, road trips, game nights, and jaunts to the beach. Be sure to look for the shiny black bag with red, white, and green lettering next time you find yourself at this grocery chain. You’ll find the Spicy Porkless Plant-Based Snack Rinds next to some of our other favorite TJ’s salty snacks like Popcorn In a Pickle, Saddle Potato Crisps, and Plantain Chips. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest Trader Joe’s, snag a bag, and get snackin’.
