From the director of PlantPure Nation and producer of Forks Over Knives comes this revealing new documentary.

The nonprofit PlantPure Communities has released a revealing new documentary, From Food to Freedom, exclusively at FoodToFreedomFilm.com. Directed by Nelson Campbell, known for his work on PlantPure Nation, the film follows a group of individuals as they embark on a journey to reverse their type 2 diabetes in just 10 days by adopting a healthy, plant-based diet.

Reversing Type 2 Diabetes with a Plant-Based Diet

Under the guidance of Nelson Campbell and his wife, chef and cookbook author Kim Campbell, a live-in immersion program was set up in Greensboro, North Carolina. Six participants (plus two spouses) diagnosed with type 2 diabetes joined the program. With daily plant-based meals prepared by Kim and Chef Fernando Peralta, close physician supervision, and biometric testing, participants experienced astonishing results shortly after transitioning to a whole food, plant-based diet.

From Food to Freedom explores not only the participants' personal stories but also topics such as nutrition, chronic disease, immunity, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Contributions from Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study, shed light on the connection between pre-existing lifestyle conditions like type 2 diabetes and adverse Covid-19 outcomes, highlighting the importance of optimal health through diet.

Award-Winning Plant-Based Film

The film has garnered significant recognition, receiving eight awards and honors in 2023, including “Best Feature Documentary” at the SoCal Film Awards and “Best Inspirational Film” at the Los Angeles Film Awards.

From Food to Freedom opens our eyes to the possibility of transformational change in society,” said Director Nelson Campbell. “It charts a hopeful pathway for people wanting to live free of disease and costly pharmaceuticals.” The documentary inspires viewers to consider the transformative potential of embracing a plant-based lifestyle.

Proceeds from the film go to support nonprofit PlantPure Communities' grassroots efforts to promote plant-based nutrition and empower others to make similar lifestyle choices.

Just launched: Laughing in the Face of Chaos by Rudá Iandê

Exhausted from trying to hold it all together?
You show up. You smile. You say the right things. But under the surface, something’s tightening. Maybe you don’t want to “stay positive” anymore. Maybe you’re done pretending everything’s fine.

This book is your permission slip to stop performing. To understand chaos at its root and all of your emotional layers.

In Laughing in the Face of Chaos, Brazilian shaman Rudá Iandê brings over 30 years of deep, one-on-one work helping people untangle from the roles they’ve been stuck in—so they can return to something real. He exposes the quiet pressure to be good, be successful, be spiritual—and shows how freedom often lives on the other side of that pressure.

This isn’t a book about becoming your best self. It’s about becoming your real self.
