A new Black-owned brick-and-mortar has opened in Irving, Texas and we’ve got the inside scoop on the fire Southern eats!

Bam’s Vegan Smoothies & Wraps was originally launched at the Dallas Farmers Market in 2018, but after gaining a loyal following, owner Brandon Waller has brought his comfort food creations to a permanent location in Irving, just outside of Dallas. The team’s motto is to “manifest higher” and that’s just what the new spot is all about, building on the success of Brandon’s creations and popular e-books, making plant-based dining and cooking more accessible to everyone.

The restaurant opened in January, but is still in the soft opening stages, especially with the latest inclement weather in Texas. The spot is testing out menu items like Creole gumbo, Cajun “shrimp” po’boys, and piled-high nachos and bowls. Specials change daily, encouraging customer input for the final menu and grand opening.

Though a small operation, Brandon’s core mission is to serve his community. During the weather crisis in Texas, Bam’s served up free hot chili, cornbread, and bottled water while collecting donations for those in need during the storm.

As hours and menu items vary daily during the soft opening stage, be sure to check Bam’s Vegan Instagram page for the latest updates.

Bam’s Vegan is located at 2301 N O’Connor Rd, Irving, TX 75062.
