After years of farmers market pop-ups in Rockford, Ada, and Grand Rapids, a local husband-and-wife duo have opened a brick-and-mortar bakery in West Michigan. Trained pastry chef Abigail Stratton and her husband Ben celebrated the grand opening of their sweet storefront earlier this month. From scones and macarons to pies and cookie sandwiches, the bakery features tasty and inclusive treats to be enjoyed by all—Monarch Bakery brings vegan baked goods to Rockford, Michigan.
Monarch Bakery Adds to the Grand Rapids Vegan Scene
The beautiful and eclectic downtown of Rockford, Michigan just got a little sweeter. Located in the Grand Rapids metropolitan area, Monarch Bakery is the new one-stop shop for vegan treats—Monarch Bakery adds to the vegan Grand Rapids scene. While the establishment is not a fully vegan bakeshop, Monarch offers a wide variety of inclusive treats to enjoy. Abigail, a trained pastry chef who completed her degree from Baker College’s Culinary Institute of Michigan, has been testing tried-and-true vegan sweets for several years. The rotational vegan baked goods are made with high-quality ingredients and have undergone a series of taste tests before hitting the shelves. Plant-based customers can enjoy popular cruelty-free confections such as coconut macaroons and French macarons offered in a variety of flavors, vegan apple pies, cinnamon rolls, cookie sandwiches, fresh Danishes, and decadent scones. The pastry shop also offers special-occasion desserts for parties, weddings, corporate events, and more—sweet treats are hands down our favorite way to celebrate!
Monarch Bakery is located at 54 Courtland St, Unit D, Rockford, MI 49341. Rockford is about a twenty-minute drive from Grand Rapids. The bakery is open from 10am-7pm Tuesday through Saturday and from 11am-4pm on Sunday. Monarch is closed on Mondays.
