There’s a new vegan meat in town and customers are stocking up!

Vegan meat alternative startup Meati launched its direct-to-consumer cutlet pre-orders on Monday, February 14, and sold out of its entire inventory in less than 24 hours. Leading up to the pre-order launch, the company notified its existing email subscribers of the highly anticipated debut of the Meati Chicken Cutlet and Meati Crispy Cutlet. Fans were waiting at the ready and purchased over 1,000 juicy cutlets in the first hour and cleaned house of Meati’s pre-order inventory by the end of the first day.

Meati Cutlets Made from Mushrooms

Based out of Boulder, Colorado, the Meati brand specializes in high-quality, minimally processed meat alternatives. Co-founded by Tyler Huggins and Justin Whiteley, Meati features animal-free cuts made with mycelium, the nutrient-dense muscular root structure found in mushrooms. Meati Cutlets are rich in protein and fiber, low in fat, and contain no sugar or cholesterol. The plant-based chicken products are free from soy, wheat, and peas—ingredients found in most plant-based meats. Meati Cutlets can be cooked in a similar fashion to their non-vegan counterparts—this includes seared, baked, and grilled.

Nutritionally Dense Whole Food Proteins

The impressive pre-order sale at the brand’s debut is the first step in meeting its mission to deliver scalable, nutritionally dense whole food proteins to consumers and become the United States’ market share leader in plant-based meat by 2025. With endorsement and support from celebrities like Top Chef host Tom Colicchio, Meati is on track to meet its goals while protecting and preserving the planet’s resources.

Coming Soon: Meati’s Steak Filet

Looking to get your hands on Meati’s Chicken and Crispy Cutlets? Restock information from Meati is coming soon. To be the first in line, prospective customers can join the Meati email list to be alerted as soon as the cutlets are back in stock. In addition, Meati products are planned to roll out to a store near you over the next year. Plant-based foodies can also look forward to the launch of Meati’s Steak Filet, a savory, protein-packed vegan steak filet made with mycelium. In the meantime, check out Meati’s website for more information on America’s up-and-coming meat alternative.
