National pizza chain, Little Caesars, is bringing the Planteroni Pizza to hundreds of stores this July.
Plant-based pizza lovers, it’s time to celebrate! Little Caesars debuts vegan pepperoni in select cities nationwide. While the plant-based meat and cheese brand Field Roast launched plant-based pepperoni slices earlier this year, these classic ‘za toppers are making their takeout pizzeria debut this summer.
Little Caesars Planteroni Pizza
The Field Roast pepperoni was created with fresh spices like fennel, cracked pepper, garlic, and paprika. The wheat and pea protein-based sausage contains a unique marbling of plant-based fat, similar to that of non-vegan meats making it the perfect pizza topping. In debuting its plant-based partnership, the pizza chain and Field Roast are introducing the Little Caesars Planteroni Pizza, a cheese and pepperoni pie. While this ‘za is not vegan as-is, guests can order without cheese for a plant-based meal. Field Roast Plant-Based Pepperoni will also be a topping option for custom pizzas in key markets. Customers may pair it with Little Caesars regular crust, red sauce, and a variety of veggie toppings for a more deluxe vegan takeout option.
“This is a huge moment for pizza lovers because, for the first time, they have access to a zesty, bold plant-based pepperoni made with pea protein that absolutely delivers on taste,” said Dan Curtin, President of Greenleaf Foods, owner of the Field Roast brand. “We believe every occasion deserves bold, inspired flavors—we’re excited to work with Little Caesars to deliver on that promise.”
Vegan Options at Little Caesars
Little Caesars will be rolling out vegan pepperoni beginning July 12 at hundreds of stores in select locations. The pepperoni will be available at Little Caesars in the cities and suburbs of Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, San Francisco, Portland, and the chain’s hometown of Detroit. With hundreds of locations adding Field Roast pepperoni, Little Caesars is the largest national pizza chain to offer a plant-based pepperoni topping. Vegan options at Little Caesars for the win! Don’t live near a participating location? The Field Roast Plant-Based Pepperoni is expected to roll onto retail shelves in North America later this year.
