For those of you who are still scrounging for the best ever vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe … this is for you! Ghirardelli has just debuted new vegan chocolate baking chips!

Vegan Ghirardelli Chocolate Chips

Ghirardelli has been a leader in the chocolate industry since 1852. Its product line contains everything from white chocolate baking chips to 92% cacao dark chocolate bars. Previously, the brand has offered very few vegan options. Even Ghirardelli’s dark chocolate has traditionally contained milk fat. But no more!

This week, Ghirardelli announced its newest product: Non-Dairy Dark Chocolate Baking Chips. The chocolate chips are made with 52% cacao, cane sugar, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, and vanilla extract.

“We’re continuing to look for ways to innovate in the baking chocolate category that meet consumers’ evolving preferences and introduce products that everyone can enjoy,” said Megan Wright, Marketing Director at Ghirardelli. “Consumers looking to reduce their dairy intake, or for plant-based chocolate options, can now turn to Ghirardelli’s new Non-Dairy Dark Chocolate Baking Chips to make their delicious treats a bite better.”

The Non-Dairy Dark Chocolate Baking Chips are available in the baking aisle at retailers nationwide. The suggested retail price is $5.99. Be sure to check with your local retailers for availability.

Ghirardelli Vegan Options

While this new vegan option from Ghirardelli is promising, there is currently only one other vegan option available. The Intense Dark 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate is fully plant-based. It is available as a bar or individual squares.
