The team behind the first vegetarian fast food restaurant in North America has set its sights on Southern California for 2022.

With three successful locations already operating in Northern California since 2015, the company behind some of the freezer aisle’s most popular and affordable vegan and vegetarian microwave meals, pizzas, and burritos and pasta, has officially laid plans to bring their concept to Southern California. Amy’s Meatless Drive Thru is set to open the two spots in Aliso Viejo and Thousand Oaks, California.

Everything on the Menu Can Be Made Vegan!

Though Amy’s Drive Thru is a vegetarian concept, nearly everything on the menu can be made vegan, and all items are gluten-free. Guests can expect all of the favorites they’d find at any other fast food establishment, minus the meat—and items are customizable with easy dairy swaps. Options include organic meatless burgers, pizzas, mac ‘n’ cheese, burritos, milkshakes (just swap out for a non-dairy flavor!), soups, and a full breakfast menu, so you can start your day with one of their vegan breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, bagels, waffles, or yogurt parfaits.

Budget-Friendly Vegan Eats

With many restaurants facing an unfortunately high mark-up on vegan items and plant-based substitutes, Amy’s Meatless Drive Thru is working hard to keep costs down for customers, proving eating your veggies doesn’t have to be expensive. The lowest-priced menu option is the Little Billy Burrito, priced just under $4, and costs stay reasonable with the top price for the heartier salads coming in at just around $10. Budget-friendly vegan eats! Most other items fall somewhere between that range, staying on par with many other fast food joints that offer far less vegan-friendly options.

Amy’s is also B Corp Certified, balancing purpose and profit. Companies that receive this marker are required to consider the impact of their business on workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. The two new Southern California locations are set to open in 2022 and are part of a multitude of sites ready to expand down the West Coast over the next few years.

Amy’s Meatless Drive Thru will open in Thousand Oaks at 400 N Moorpark Road and in Aliso Viejo at 26641 Aliso Creek Road. For more information on Amy’s Drive Thru and new locations, check out AmysDriveThru.com or follow the chain on Instagram (@AmysDriveThru).
