When it comes to fast food, finding vegan options can sometimes be a challenge. However, if you find yourself at the drive-thru, we’ve got you covered. While Wendy’s hasn’t released a vegan burger quite yet, it does offer some vegan-friendly sides that you can create a meal out of. From side salads to customizable options, here’s a guide to how to eat vegan at Wendy’s.

Navigating the Menu

Wendy’s menu may focus heavily on animal-based burgers and chicken, but with a little creativity and some modifications, you can craft a vegan meal that will get you through to your next pit stop. Start by reviewing the menu online or using the mobile app to familiarize yourself with the options. Then use our guide here and the online menu to strategize how to customize your order.

Garden Side Salad

Wendy’s offers a variety of salads that can be easily modified. Opt for the Garden Side Salad, which includes crisp lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Top with Wendy’s Pomegranate Vinaigrette dressing, which is vegan.

French Fries and Baked Potatoes

Wendy’s has several side dishes that are vegan-friendly and perfect for pairing with your meal. The Natural-Cut Fries are cooked in vegetable oil, making them the ideal crispy accompaniment. Another great option is the Plain Baked Potato (comes without butter). Order with salsa on top!

Breakfast Options

Wendy’s offers only a few vegan-friendly options for breakfast. Try the Apple Bites, Seasoned Potatoes, or Orange Juice. Note that the Seasoned Potatoes and Natural-Cut Fries share the same oil as non-vegan items, so cross-contamination may occur.

While Wendy’s still has a long way to go with vegan options, with a little bit of knowledge and creativity, you can still enjoy a plant-based meal on the go. Communicate your preferences clearly when ordering and remember that modifications may be necessary to make certain menu items vegan-friendly.
