The PSA inspiring people to embrace a plant-based diet will be aired before Wonka.
In a groundbreaking move, a new Eat Differently Public Service Announcement (PSA) is captivating audiences across 1,800 movie theaters nationwide as part of the Wonka film pre-show. With an impressive cast featuring Timothee Chalamet, Hugh Grant, and Oscar winner Olivia Colman, Wonka promises to be a holiday season blockbuster.
Artistic Vision and Compassionate Dining
Renowned BAFTA-winning director Alex Lockwood joined forces with Eat Differently to craft a unique Wonka campaign. The 60-second PSA, strategically positioned before the film, aligns with the notion that we are all dreamers capable of making a difference. The theme revolves around the transformative power of art and encourages viewers to think and eat differently.
Lockwood said, “I have always been a fan of Arthur O’Shaughnessy’s ‘Ode’ poem and the ‘Pure Imagination’ song from the original Willy Wonka film. The lyrics are especially poignant and relevant as they pertain to our treatment of the animals with whom we share this earth. To quote Mr. O’Shaughnessy, ‘Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world? There’s nothing to it.’”
Stirring Hope and Optimism
Eat Differently’s PSA doesn’t just deliver a message; it creates an atmosphere of hope and optimism. “This spot doesn’t shame or take people away from the entertainment experience, but rather it stirs hope and optimism,” stated Lori Amos, ad executive.
This PSA marks the third phase of the Eat Differently initiative, which kicked off with a massive billboard campaign in San Diego and a spectacular drone show above the UN in New York.
In addition to the PSA, the campaign engages audiences with onscreen trivia, highlighting the myriad benefits of adopting a plant-based diet. This educational component adds depth to the initiative, encouraging viewers to contemplate the positive impact of their dietary choices.
