Wienerschnitzel Adds Vegan Hot Dogs to Menu

National chain, Weinerschnitzel, is now offering plant-based hot dogs at select locations. The new Signature Stadium Dog from Field Roast was inspired by kosher-style hot dogs and packs bold and smoky flavors. Created with peas, brown rice, and fava beans, the dog provides the same amount or protein as traditional offerings, but with less sodium. And there are no nitrites or nitrates to be found.

Wienerschnitzel diners may enjoy the product in a variety of ways as the veggie dog can be found on the menu in Backyard, Barbeque, and Chicago styles. At this time, the new Field Roast dog is offered at 19 test locations across California, Texas, and New Mexico. If acceptance is high, there are goals of expansion to more restaurants chain-wide. Note: Of the three ways to enjoy the product, the Backyard Veggie Dog is served with a dairy-based cheese, while the other varieties are totally vegan without modifications.

Want in on this American staple but don’t live near a test location? Field Roast is set to launch their new Signature Stadium Dogs in stores nationwide this April.
