The people behind the byline

VegOut is published by Brown Brothers Media. A Magazine Editor leads the editorial direction of each monthly issue. A roster of named writers contribute under their own bylines. Nine editorial columns publish coverage by the team across the three pillars. Every piece is reviewed before publication and corrected when wrong.

Editorial accountability

Magazine Editor

Chris Jeremia
Magazine Editor

Chris is the Editor of VegOut Magazine. She is a writer, yoga instructor, and former national triathlete whose work focuses on what it means to live consciously beyond the mat and the finish line. Her writing examines presence and connection — to nature, to others, and to self. Her first issue as Editor was the February 2026 edition, Longevity, Legacy & the Things That Last, opening with the Ise Jingu shrine in Japan and running through reporting on recycling, burnout, the wardrobe kept for a lifetime. She edits the magazine, oversees the column bylines that publish online, and works with the wider writer roster on commissioning.

Editorial columns

Three editorial columns publish under each pillar, plus a catch-all editorial team byline. Each column is produced by VegOut's editorial team and reviewed under the Magazine Editor's direction. The column name, not an individual writer, is the byline because the column's perspective is the publication's perspective.

Eat Better pillar

Table Notes
Food culture and food essays — the space where what we eat gets thought through rather than just cooked.

The Plate Report
Food industry investigation — the prose-form companion to our YouTube food-systems video essays. Supply chains, marketing claims, and the players behind the food on our plates.

Kitchen Field
Practical recipes, technique, and seasonal cooking. The working-chef end of plant-based eating, tested in our kitchen.

Live Lighter pillar

The Lighter Print
Sustainability, climate, anti-consumption, the lighter-footprint side of conscious living.

Slow Closet
Fashion, textiles, and slow-fashion. The wardrobe choices that go with a lighter footprint.

Soft Itinerary
Travel and place. Lighter-footprint travel, the ecology of cities, the small frictions of moving through the world more carefully.

Think Deeper pillar

Inner Practice
Psychology of conscious living — how people change habits, why some don't, the emotional infrastructure of sustained choices.

Quiet Habits
Daily practice, behavior change, mornings, attention. The small habits that, kept up, become a life.

The Long View
Philosophy, ethics, future-of-living questions. What's worth rebuilding, what's worth keeping, what we owe each other and the world.

Cross-pillar

VegOut Editorial Team
News, magazine companion pieces, and cross-pillar features published collectively by the team.

Editorial process

Articles published under a named writer's byline indicate substantial individual authorship by that writer.

Articles published under a column byline (the nine columns above, or VegOut Editorial Team) are produced by VegOut's editorial team. The column name represents the publication's editorial perspective on its subject. Editorial responsibility for column work rests with VegOut.

Every piece — named-writer or column — is reviewed before publication. Sensitive topics including nutrition claims, food-industry investigation, and personal-experience essays receive an additional review. AI tools support drafting and research; they do not make editorial decisions. For full details, see our Editorial Policy.

In memoriam

We honour the contribution of Hiago Martins, a writer and musician for VegOut, who passed away in 2026. We have kept his published work and bio on the site in his memory.
