This Austin-based eatery has Taco Tuesday covered with their latest vegan-friendly taco!
Last week, Torchy’s Tacos launched The MoFaux, a vegan-friendly taco that features Cowboy-style Beyond Beef topped with green chiles, grilled corn, peppadew peppers, avocado, cilantro, and Diablo Sauce on a fresh-made corn tortilla. The new menu item is available as part of a limited rollout in the brand’s hometown of Austin and at Torchy’s Tacos’s first digital kitchen in Columbus, Ohio.
A Vegan Taco That’s Full of Flavor and Darn Good
“Torchy’s Tacos is excited to launch The MoFaux—our new plant-based taco that is full of flavor and [darn] good! At Torchy’s, we continuously strive to innovate and offer inclusive options to guests, and that is exactly what this [vegan] taco does. Made with seasoned Cowboy-style Beyond Beef, green chiles, grilled corn, peppadew peppers, fresh avocado, and cilantro with our signature Diablo Sauce all served on a house-made corn tortilla, the MoFaux is flexitarian, vegetarian, vegan-friendly, and absolutely delicious. We invite everyone to come out and try it!” a representative from Torchy’s Tacos told VegOut.
A Vegan Street Taco with a Twist
Torchy’s Tacos was established in Austin when the founder, Mike Rypka—who had a dream to provide tasty tacos to the community and beyond—bought a food trailer and a red Vespa. After a few trips around town, as well as time spent experimenting with the menu, Torchy’s Tacos was born. Torchy’s offers a street taco with a twist as their menu features unique flavor combinations made with high-quality ingredients. Since opening in 2006, the brand continues to grow across the US with recent openings in Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, and plans to expand into Tennessee.
