The new Kula Ice Cream storefront opens this Friday!
After two years of making and selling pints of plant-based ice cream at pop-ups and retail stores, Kula is opening a vegan, gluten-free ice cream shop in San Diego this Friday!
Kula Vegan Ice Cream
Libby Lefanowicz founded Kula back in 2019 as a way to share her delicious allergy-friendly ice cream recipes with the community. “Kula” is a Sanskrit word used in the yoga world to describe inclusion and belonging, which perfectly describes what the company represents as an all-vegan and gluten-free ice cream company.
For the past two years, Kula vegan ice cream has been available for local pickup at select retail locations and occasional pop-ups. In addition, Kula has a delivery option for Arizona, California, and Nevada residents. Now, the company is expanding to a scoop shop to make their frozen treats more accessible and customizable.
San Diego’s First All-Vegan and Gluten-Free Scoop Shop
Kula’s storefront is set to open this Friday as San Diego’s first all-vegan and gluten-free scoop shop. Customers can choose from 12 mouthwatering flavors that range from Kula classics like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Lava Cake to more unique varieties such as Unicorn Poop, Watermelon Chip, Cookie Monster, and their grand opening special—“Everything.”
The rich and decadent flavors can be enjoyed in a cup or cone, and each scoop comes with a house-made waffle cookie on top! All three cone options (waffle, sugar, and cake) are entirely vegan and gluten-free and the ice cream flavors are crafted with different nut and seed bases to cater to guests of all preferences and allergies.
“We hope to be a sweet retreat for our local businesses, customers, friends, and partners and that everyone feels welcome in our doors,” said Libby Lefanowicz.
The Kula Ice Cream grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place this Friday, August 6th at noon at 9883 Pacific Heights Blvd, Suite F, San Diego, CA 92121. After the opening ceremony, Kula will be open from noon to 6pm Wednesdays through Saturdays.
