Rochester, New York Gets a New Vegan Bakery

The popular allergy-friendly, vegan bakery Hollycake House opened the doors to its first brick-and-mortar on November 1.

Hollycake House was born at the beginning of 2020 as a delivery service offering custom vegan cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. After a successful couple of years, owners Holly, Brian, and Gabriel Bianchi have opened the doors to their first Hollycake House brick-and-mortar location in East Rochester, New York.

The fully vegan cafe and bakery in East Rochester offers specialty coffee, breakfast, and lunch options as well as a full spectrum of baked goods, including cupcakes, scones, and custom cakes. Several gluten-free options are also available daily.

The new spot is located near Edmund Lyon Park at 300 Main St, Suite 25, East Rochester, NY, 14445. The cafe is open from 8am-3pm Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturdays. Breakfast is served from 8-10:30am, the lunch menu is available from 11am-2pm, and the last hour of service is dedicated to coffee and pastries.

Slutty Brownies, Pumpkin Scones, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

The menu at Hollycake House is still being established, so expect a larger rollout in the future. For now, you can expect to find dozens of different baked goods made fresh daily, including their famed slutty brownies, jumbo muffins, a variety of cupcakes and croissants. Seasonal offerings include Pumpkin Scones, Blueberry Scones, and Apple Pie Cupcakes.

For breakfast, the cafe is currently offering Avocado Toast, Layered Overnight Oats, Fruit & Yogurt Parfait, and a variety of bagels served with vegan cream cheese, peanut butter, or butter. Lunch offerings include several paninis, sandwiches, and a full build-your-own salad bar. A popular lunch favorite is the Cora Panini, which comes with house-made seitan turkey, smoked provolone cheese, house-made romesco sauce, tomatoes, and lettuce.

The shop takes catering orders on all baked goods, which can be placed by calling the store 48 hours in advance at 583-310-7728. Some popular items include the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake (which can be ordered in 6” or 8”) and the choose-your-own assortment of a dozen cupcakes.
