This company is shaking up the snack market with their recent transition to an all-vegan brand.

This month, PeaTos goes all vegan and challenges the American snack industry. The innovative snack brand specializes in putting a health-forward spin on America’s favorite “junk” food, replacing popular corn-based snacks like Funyuns and Cheetos with pea-based ingredients.

“PeaTos delivers the taste, sensory experience, and feelings of comfort food nostalgia that snacks like Cheetos and Funyuns offer but without all the junk that comes with eating those snacks,” Nick Desai, Founder and CEO of PeaTos, told VegOut. “Honestly if customers don’t feel 100% satisfied, I’ll personally send them a bag of Cheetos.”

PeaTos’ rebranding to an all-vegan company is shaking up the American snack industry. For many years, the snack category has been controlled by big name companies like PepsiCo and their subsidiary Frito-Lay. By offering plant-based versions of Frito-Lay snacks, PeaTos is challenging the company’s dominance with a unique approach that PeaTos believes will “bridge the gap between junk food taste and better-for-you nutrition.”

“For decades, the category has been dominated as a monopoly by PepsiCo subsidiary Frito-Lay, meaning consumer choice at the retail level is an illusion,” said Desai. “But those days are over—consumers no longer need to sacrifice taste for nutrition. PeaTos is the only brand to make good on the dream of bridging the gap between junk food taste and better-for-you nutrition.”

PeaTos Transitions to a 100% Plant-Based Snack Brand and Launches Crunchy Pizza Rings

As a 100% plant-based snack brand, PeaTos now utilizes a proprietary approach to replicate the taste of dairy-based snacks using only 100% plant-based ingredients. As a result, the company has created vegan snacks that mimic the taste and texture of munchies like Cheetos and Funyuns—minus the dairy, artificial additives, and artificial ingredients.

PeaTos currently offers four varieties of plant-based snacks, including Crunchy Onion Rings, Crunchy Cheese Curls, and Fiery Hot Crunchy Curls. The company also recently launched Crunchy Pizza Rings, which feature a fresh-from-the-oven pizza flavor made with plant-based tomato and cheese-flavored seasonings.
