Over 50 restaurants are offering new vegan menu items and specials, alongside widespread support from universities, workplaces, and celebrities.
Veganuary 2025 is making waves in New York, with more participating restaurants than ever before. The global campaign encouraging people to explore plant-based eating during January has seen significant growth, both in NYC and nationwide.
Veganuary Restaurant Specials in NYC
This year, over 50 NYC restaurants have joined the Veganuary movement, offering an array of new vegan dishes:
- Rush Bowls: Offering a Detox Bowl throughout January and a special buy one, get half off deal on bowls and smoothies with code VEGANUARY.
- Gregorys Coffee: Introduced a vegan chocolate croissant and dropped charges for non-dairy milks at all 36 locations.
- Lucy’s Vietnamese: Serving up a Spiced Shiitake Mushroom Pâté Bánh Mì through January 20.
- Harlem Shake: Featuring Vegan Nuggins (plant-based chicken nuggets) with various dips at both locations.
- Eataly: Collaborating with Tourlami for a vegan Raspberry Filled Croissant.
- Plantega: Launching a limited-time Cubano sandwich at select locations.
- Cadence and Ladybird: Offering a $35 three-course prix-fixe dinner Sundays through Thursdays.
- Red Bamboo: Celebrating with a $23 Veganuary sample platter and birthday cupcakes.
- Sen Saigon: Hosting a $68 three-course Vietnamese dinner for two.
- Sweet Anaelle: Featuring 15% off the new Veggie Ceviche.
- Caravan of Dreams: Providing a $16 vegan lunch special daily.
- Candle Cafe: Offering Veganuary specials and new menu items.

Celebrations Across the City
Veganuary is not just for restaurants. Universities like Cornell, UC Berkeley, and NYU are hosting special events. La Bakeria by Alegria Vegana will hold a Veganuary Movie Night on January 13 and a potluck in Brooklyn on January 20.
Veganuary Workplace Challenges
Over 40 US employers, including EY, Linkgraph, and LUSH, are encouraging their teams to go vegan for 31 days. Linkgraph's Director of Agency Success, Sophia Deluz, shares the company's commitment to kindness and environmental impact, pledging $50 for each participating employee.
Celebrity Support
Hollywood stars and athletes are joining the cause. Woody Harrelson and his wife Laura contributed a recipe to Veganuary’s Celebrity eCookbook. Bethany Antonia, Preacher Lawson, and Olympic rower Imogen Grant are also championing the campaign. Grant highlights the environmental benefits and personal performance improvements from a vegan diet.
