This new plant-based eatery is dishing out everything from boozy floats to Margherita pizzas in San Antonio, Texas!
Last Friday, a new vegan pizzeria serving up signature pizzas, ice cream, and cocktails opened in San Antonio, Texas. In the pursuit to create a craveable plant-based food concept, two friends and fellow vegans Adriana Messina and Gene Liguori opened the doors to Verve Pie, complete with DJs, contests, prizes, and pizza deals.
“Our grand opening was such an exciting and successful event,” Stephanie Yzaguirre, Verve Pie Marketing Director, told VegOut. “We are very happy to be able to share our plant-powered pizza and ice cream with the world. And we love that guests, both vegans and non-vegans alike, really enjoyed our pizza, ice cream, and cocktails.”
The Verve Pie Menu
The Verve Pie menu features chef-inspired pizzas and ice cream, as well as signature cocktails like the Scooby Snack (Malibu coconut rum, melon liqueur, banana liqueur, pineapple juice, and whipped cream). Pie options include classics like The Margherita (tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil) and The “Better Than” Italian Sausage (tomato sauce, ricotta, and house-made plant-based Italian sausage), as well as unique pizza creations such as The Everything Bagel (garlic aioli, avocado spread, cream cheese, shaved red onion, seasoned fresh tomatoes, and everything seasoning).
“Verve Pie has been a long time in the making,” Messina, the restaurant’s co-founder, told VegOut. “We’re excited to finally bring our delicious plant-based food to the world. We specifically worked with a meat-eating chef to help create our pizza and ice cream menu, to develop a flavor that would satisfy traditional pizza and ice cream enthusiasts. We welcome both vegans and meat-eaters to Verve Pie.”
Dairy-Free Vegan Ice Cream Floats, Ice Cream Bowls, and Pints
Those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth cravings can indulge in dairy-free vegan ice cream floats, ice cream bowls, and pints. Ice cream flavors include vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel pecan, berry basil, mint chocolate chip, and cookies & cream. In addition to classic scoops, guests can indulge in creamy cocktails such as The Side Piece (Verve Pie chocolate ice cream, vodka, coffee liqueur, and Irish cream liqueur drizzled in chocolate syrup), or The Friends with Benefits (Verve Pie pistachio ice cream, vodka, triple sec, vanilla rum, and half & half). A portion of Verve Pie’s proceeds goes toward helping the expansion of Free Spirit Animal Sanctuary.
