We hope you’re hungry for croissants because there’s a new vegan French bakery in Los Angeles! After years of perfecting their traditional pastries and viennoiserie, Chaumont Bakery & Cafe has branched out to the plant-based world with the opening of Chaumont Vegan.
Chaumont Bakery & Cafe first opened its flagship store (non-vegan) in 2013. When asked why they decided to expand with the launch of an all-vegan location, co-owners Frederic Laski and Laila Abddaim said, “We noticed a growing number of Chaumont patrons who decided to go vegan. They told us that Los Angeles was a city with an amazing vegan restaurant scene with many options to choose from. However, the choice of French-style viennoiserie was still very limited. We started doing a lot of experimentation with recipes and butter alternatives, and came up with a line of delicious vegan viennoiserie. We wanted to sell them at a spot where vegans don’t have to look at the ingredients of every single item on the menu.”
The Chaumont Vegan menu features a wide variety of sweet and savory pastries, cakes, and various breakfast items. Croissants, Jalapeño & Cheese Rolls, Banana Pecan Bread, and Avocado Toast are just a few of the bites you can order at the bakery. There’s also an entire beverage menu with satisfying sips like the Pear Orange Blossom Latte, Matcha Latte, Cappuccino, and Hot Dark Chocolate to name a few.
Chaumont Vegan is located at 145 S Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills—right next door to their flagship store. As of now, the bakery is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30am to 4pm and Sundays from 7:30am to 4pm, but they plan to be open 6-7 days a week in the coming months.
