Everyone’s favorite Southern California vegan cookie shop is expanding! Maya’s Cookies has announced the opening of a second San Diego location this spring.

Vegan Cookie Shop Expands to North County San Diego

With the wild success of her first storefront in San Diego, Maya Madsen—founder of Maya’s Cookies—had been looking for the perfect location for a second storefront. In her searches, Madsen found North City, a collection of restaurants, outdoor plazas, breweries, and entertainment venues that has been referred to as the downtown of San Diego’s North County.

North City regularly hosts live music, farmers markets, and other community events, and is already home to some other vegan-friendly restaurants. Maya’s Cookies is excited to join the team at North City in late spring of this year. North City is located at 250 North City Drive, San Marcos, CA 92078. Grand Opening details for the second Maya’s Cookies location will be released soon.

Maya’s Cookies Serves the Community

Maya Madsen has been an invaluable part of the San Diego community for years. Her first Maya’s Cookies storefront location opened in Grantville in November of 2020, but the brand had been popping up all over San Diego since 2015.

Although Maya’s Cookies now has a massive online presence and ships homemade vegan cookies nationwide, the small shop in Grantville still makes up a large percentage of the company’s overall sales. This is largely due to the local community that turns out in support for Madsen, who has spent the last number of years supporting other local businesses through challenging times. In fact, the mayor of San Diego recently declared December 4 Maya’s Cookies Day in her honor. And just recently, Madsen has been named one of San Diego’s Top 50 Black Leaders of Influence by the San Diego Business Journal.
