Everyone’s favorite vegan celebrity Lizzo appeared on the latest episode of the popular YouTube show Hot Ones today. There, she ate vegan hot wings and talked about her latest projects.
Lizzo Veganizes Hot Ones in Style
Lizzo appeared on Hot Ones’ 11th episode of Season 18. The segment aired on August 4. The show features interviews with celebrities as they eat 10 chicken wings tossed in progressively hotter sauces. Because Lizzo is an outspoken vegan, her wings for the show were provided by Daring—a popular vegan chicken brand.
Throughout the interview, Lizzo talked about her latest album, Special. The album includes the popular single “About Damn Time” and debuted on July 15, 2022. She also discussed her early career in Minneapolis, her clothing line Yitty, and the influence of her classical training on her latest album. “I think a lot about the composition. I want my music to sound good. Even when you mute my vocals,” Lizzo shared as she breezed through the first few hot wings.
When interviewer Sean Evans asked Lizzo if she had found the best plantain sandwich around (something she’s been very vocal about pursuing), the singer shouted out Black Rican Vegan. The business is a New York-based vegan Puerto Rican pop-up that has made a name for itself over the last couple of years.
With the help of some oat milk ice cream, then, Lizzo was able to make it through all 10 wings. The entire interview can be found here.
