The news you’ve all been waiting for!

Clear out your freezer and get ready to fill it with pints of drool-worthy plant-based ice cream. Asian-owned Dear Bella Creamery now ships nationwide!

Vegan, Gluten-Free Ice Cream in Los Angeles

Owned by Taiwanese Americans Alice Cherng and Belinda Wei, Dear Bella Creamery is one of the best destinations for vegan, gluten-free ice cream in Los Angeles. The scoop shop is home to 16 rotating unique plant-based ice cream flavors as well as soft serve, toppings, plant-based ice cream cakes, and other confections.

Until now, customers could order Dear Bella Creamery’s desserts in-store or through third-party delivery apps in the Hollywood area. Today, the popular vegan ice cream shop announced nationwide shipping!

Plant-Based Ice Cream for Nationwide Shipping

Through Dear Bella Creamery’s website, you can order up to five pints of vegan ice cream for nationwide shipping at the rate of $62.50. Each shipment includes a bag of vegan ice cream toppings like chocolate sprinkles, house-made cookie sandwich pieces, and Dear Bella’s iconic Honeecomb. To celebrate the launch, Dear Bella Creamery will randomly slip a golden ticket in two of the boxes ordered in May. The winner of the golden ticket will receive a 30-minute in-person or virtual tour of the scoop shop led by Cherng and Wei. The tour concludes with a plethora of goodies, presented in person or mailed in advance of the tour date.

Asian-Inspired Vegan Ice Cream Flavors

This spring, Dear Bella Creamery is scooping the following Asian-inspired vegan ice cream flavors:

  • Taiwanese Pineapple Cake: This flavor is inspired by the popular buttery shortcake from Wei’s father’s hometown of Taichung City, Taiwan. Dear Bella Creamery’s frozen take on the classic dessert features chunks of twice-baked gluten-free shortcake and butter-roasted pineapple jam.
  • Mango Sticky Rice: This flavor pays homage to the traditional Thai dessert and a similar-tasting mango shaved ice Cherng often enjoyed in Taiwan as a child. With sticky rice-infused coconut ice cream, sweet sticky rice, and mango jam, this ice cream will have you going back for seconds in no time.
  • Sweet Red Bean: Made with sweetened adzuki beans and swirls of red bean sauce, Dear Bella Creamery encapsulates the flavors of traditional red bean ice cream bars.

“The flavors at Dear Bella Creamery run the gamut of our imagination and wildest cravings. We take pride in inventing new ice cream flavors, experimenting with ingredients and bases, so that our vegan and non-vegan guests can discover something new each quarter. As an Asian American-owned and operated small business, we’re proud to bring our ice cream nationwide and find it imperative to integrate flavors from our heritage into the mainstream,” share Cherng and Wei.

In honor of AAPI Heritage Month this May, Dear Bella Creamery will donate 10% of the proceeds from their Asian-inspired flavors to Tzu Chi, a Buddhist Taiwanese organization that focuses on community service and outreach. Cherng volunteered and attended Chinese school at Tzu Chi’s Monrovia chapter as a child to stay in touch with her culture.
