Cloudy Donut Co. is set to open its second NYC location on the first day of Black History Month.
Cloudy Donut Co. is opening its second NYC location in Nolita, Manhattan on February 1, 2024—the first day of Black History Month. This move not only marks a significant expansion for the beloved vegan donut company but also establishes it as the first Black-owned food and beverage business in Nolita. The inaugural Cloudy Donut Co. location opened its doors in Brooklyn Heights in October 2022, setting the stage for this groundbreaking expansion.
A Unique Culinary Experience and Collaboration Hub
Cloudy Donut Co. isn't just about delicious vegan treats; it's a space designed to foster creativity and collaboration. Partnering with Creatives of Color, Cloudy Donut Co. will feature installations by florists, ceramists, visual artists, and musicians. The driving force behind this innovative concept is The Brown Collective, a culinary food group founded by Cloudy Donut Co. leaders, Derrick Faulcon and Zewiditu Jewel. “This will be a space where things happen and we plan to make it an unforgettable experience for our patrons and collaborators," said Jewel. Faulcon added, "We could've opened months ago, but I wanted to open on a historical day which is not only monumental for Black People, but all people."
Cloudy Donut Co. Redefines Vegan Delights
With locations now in both Brooklyn and Manhattan, Cloudy Donut Co. also boasts two storefronts in Baltimore, Maryland. Since its inception in 2020 by Faulcon, Cloudy Donut Co. has evolved beyond vegan donuts, offering small-batch and handcrafted delights such as vegan cookies, pound cake, and cinnamon rolls.
The shop features an impressive array of over 40 flavors, with eight rotating options each weekend. In a nod to inclusivity, Cloudy Donut Co. even caters to canine companions, offering special dog-friendly donuts at their Brooklyn Heights location. Cloudy Donut Co. is on a mission to change the world, one delectable donut at a time.
As Cloudy Donut Co. ventures into Nolita, it not only expands its footprint but also enriches the cultural and culinary landscape, leaving a plant-based mark on the heart of Manhattan.
