Black-Owned Vegan BBQ Joint Opens in Atlanta Next Month
Atlanta will soon be home to yet another vegan pop-up turned brick-and-mortar! Grass VBQ Joint will be opening the doors to their permanent home on December 5th in the Stone Mountain Park Plaza, joining an ever-growing list of vegan restaurants calling the area home.
Grass VBQ is known for their ultra-savory smoked meats and sauces—all of which are made in house. The mock meats are smoked for five hours with Georgia hickory, maple, and cherry wood, and each one of their sauces is slow-simmered to bring out the flavor.
The menu features a variety of sandwiches, smoked jerk wings, and even a sampler platter, which gives you the option to try two of their house-made meats alongside baked beans and a nut- and soy-free mac ‘n’ cheese.
And if you’re in the Atlanta area, Grass VBQ is offering pickups of their Smoked VBQ Sliced Turkey for the holidays. Smoked for twelve hours and served with their house-made Roasted Chanterelle Gravy, it’s the perfect meal to impress your family for Thanksgiving dinner.
