Ready for some news that will make your day? The iconic Los Angeles-based coffee shop Alfred Coffee just launched a vegan breakfast sandwich!
Alfred Coffee’s Plant-Based Breakfast Sandwich
Known for high-quality coffee, tea, pastries, and Instagrammable backgrounds, Alfred Coffee is one of the hottest coffee destinations in LA for tourists and locals alike. To cater to its vegan and veg-curious customers, Alfred Coffee launched a vegan breakfast sandwich at all 11 locations today, Tuesday, May 10. Alfred Coffee’s Plant-Based Breakfast Sandwich, nicknamed PBBS, features folded JUST Egg, an Impossible Foods breakfast sausage patty, and slice of Violife cheddar cheese on a vegan potato bun. It is entirely vegan as-is and will be a permanent fixture to the menu at $10 per sandwich.
Jordan Hardin, Director of Food & Beverage at Alfred told VegOut, “I’ve made it a long-standing priority to make sure every drink we offer can be made without animal products. Until not that long ago, the same didn’t hold true for classic cafe food options. That’s all changed, and creating our new Plant-Based Breakfast Sandwich was our way of proving that to customers, and welcoming them to the future. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this sandwich—you just might just be in the mood for something different. We think you’ll be blown away when you taste it!”

Vegan Options at Alfred Coffee
In addition to the PBBS, there’s a wide variety of other vegan options at Alfred Coffee that vary by location. For starters, most of the beverages on the menu can be made vegan when ordered with almond and oat milk. The following food items can be found vegan at select locations: Blueberry Coffee Cake, Blueberry Muffin, Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Chocolate Croissant, Classic Tea Scone, Morning Glory Muffin, Sundried Tomato Danish, Bagel with Plant-Based Cream Cheese, Avo Bagel, and VLT. The grab-and-go section features DEUX edible vegan cookie dough, Glonuts mini vegan donuts, and MUSH overnight oats.
Vegan Breakfast Sandwiches at Popular Coffee Chains
The launch of Alfred Coffee’s new vegan handheld is one of many new vegan breakfast sandwiches available at popular coffee chains. Last week, Caribou Coffee debuted its JUST Egg Roasted Tomato & Pesto Flatbread and Peet’s Coffee added two vegan breakfast sandwiches to its menu this March.
