2. Plan: Build Your Retirement Thrive Plan
A dream without a plan can quickly fade. That’s why the course takes you through building a Retirement Thrive Plan—your personal roadmap for a vibrant, purposeful future.
This plan goes far beyond finances. It covers health, lifestyle, travel, contribution, relationships, and even emotional resilience. You’ll look at the foundations that will support your vision: how you want to feel physically, how you’ll stay socially connected, and how you’ll balance security with adventure.
Participants also work through practical exercises to strengthen financial confidence, explore options like encore careers or volunteering, and design adventures that fit both their dreams and budget.
3. Act: Turn Goals Into Daily Habits
Retirement isn’t something you think your way into—it’s something you live into. Small, consistent steps shape the life you want.
In Module 4, the course introduces the SMARTER goals framework: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-framed, Exciting, and Rewarding. You’ll learn how to set both short-term and long-term goals and break them down into manageable actions.
It might be as simple as starting a daily walk, joining a book club, or reconnecting with an old friend. The key is that these habits reflect the person you want to become in retirement: healthy, engaged, and purposeful.
4. Reflect: Stay on Track with Self-Coaching
Transitions rarely unfold in a straight line. There will be periods of excitement, but also phases of uncertainty, loss, or doubt. Reflection is what keeps you anchored through it all.
The course emphasizes journaling as the ultimate self-coaching tool. Writing helps you process emotions, spot patterns, and stay aligned with your values. You’ll also learn how to use ChatGPT as a supportive “digital mentor,” helping you brainstorm ideas, overcome challenges, and celebrate wins.
Regular check-ins keep you from drifting, allowing you to adjust your course as life evolves.
5. Renew: A Cyclical Approach to Thriving
Here’s the truth: retirement isn’t a one-time plan. It’s an ongoing process of reflection and reinvention.
That’s why Your Retirement, Your Way ends with a six-month cycle called Reflect–Recalibrate–Renew. Every half-year, you’ll review your progress, celebrate achievements, refine your goals, and commit to fresh actions. This cycle ensures your retirement stays vibrant, flexible, and true to who you are becoming.
