Where to Get a Vegan Thanksgiving Feast in NYC

Get your comfy pants on—these restaurants are serving all the vegan eats this Thanksgiving!

Put those oven mitts down—your Thanksgiving spread is covered with the special holiday menus being served at vegan restaurants throughout NYC. Whether you’re a stuffing connoisseur or a pumpkin pie enthusiast, there will be something for everyone at the table to enjoy. So get ready to feast and give thanks with some delicious vegan bites!

Modern Love Brooklyn

Brooklyn

Share the love this holiday with the made-from-scratch vegan dishes from Modern Love. The Williamsburg eatery is offering a special Thanksgiving menu on Wednesday, November 24 and Thursday, November 25 in which diners can choose from carved smoked seitan turkey (includes stuffing, mushroom gravy, cranberry sauce, grilled green beans, and fried onions), pumpkin mac ‘n’ cheese (rosemary-crusted smoked tofu, cashew ricotta, fried Brussels sprout leaves, and roasted pumpkin), and a Thanksgiving burger topped with stuffing, mushroom gravy, fried onions, sautéed kale, and cranberry sauce, complete with a side of fries, salad, or potato salad. In addition, guests can also choose from appetizers and sides such as garlic parmesan wings, maple mustard Brussels sprouts, and more!

Tri Lounge Cafe

Staten Island

Get your vegan feast on with the tasty dishes from Tri Lounge Cafe, which is serving oyster mushroom fried chicken, mac ‘n’ cheese, candied yams, collard greens, mashed potatoes & gravy, Buffalo or BBQ cauliflower, and cornbread this Thanksgiving. Orders must be placed prior to Thanksgiving day and will be available for pickup from 10am-12pm on November 25.

Blossom

Manhattan (Greenwich Village & Upper West Side)

If you prefer a less traditional approach to Thanksgiving cuisine, Blossom is the spot for you! The restaurant is offering a holiday menu that includes a four-course meal with dishes such as beet carpaccio, Caesar salad, cream of sweet potato soup, parsnip ravioli, stuffed acorn squash, walnut-crusted seitan, savory soy-sausage stuffing, and pumpkin pie with coconut whipped cream. Blossom is offering the option to dine in or to pre-order Thanksgiving meals to enjoy at home.

Veggie Castle

Queens

Want to feast like royalty this Thanksgiving? Veggie Castle has you covered! Their holiday menu includes roasted herb vegan “turkey” with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, vegan sausage & herb stuffing, roasted butternut squash & cauliflower medley, baked mac ‘n’ cheese, yellow rice, cranberry walnut & kale quinoa, cornbread, and Impossible baked ziti. The Thanksgiving menu will be available to order in-store only on Wednesday, November 24 and will be served on a first come, first served basis with the exception of catering-sized orders, which can be placed now up until November 24.

Red Bamboo

Manhattan

For a more traditional take on Thanksgiving cuisine, head over to Greenwich Village’s Red Bamboo, where you can feast on vegan herbed turkey, vegan smoked ham, and vegan Creole soul chicken. Sides such as mac ‘n’ cheese, stuffing, collard greens, and garlic mashed potatoes are also included, as well as pumpkin squares for dessert. The Thanksgiving menu will be available for dine-in on November 24 and November 25, and pre-orders for takeout will be available beginning on November 18.

Orchard Grocer

Manhattan

Prefer your Thanksgiving spread in sandwich form? Look no further than Orchard Grocer! Stop by this NYC deli to pick up the Tabitha, which features breaded and fried stuffing, house-made holiday roast slices, mushroom gravy, Brussels sprout-scallion slaw, and cranberry sauce on a fresh baked roll. The sandwich is available now through Thanksgiving Day and pairs perfectly with the deli’s pumpkin spice milkshake!

SESTINA

Manhattan

Brought to you by the Matthew Kenney Cuisine team, SESTINA will be serving their full menu on Thanksgiving Day along with a few seasonal specials such as eggplant parmesan, wood-oven romanesco and squash medley, and an oat chocolate crostata for dessert. The restaurant will be open for both indoor and outdoor dining on Thursday, November 25, and reservations are strongly encouraged.

Tofu Tikkā Recipe

Tikkā is a northern Indian dish involving marinated protein or vegetables cooked in a tandoor, or clay oven. My version is made with marinated tofu baked on skewers in a conventional oven to mimic the traditional cooking vessel, which adds a char and smokiness to the dish. Using smoked paprika further pays tribute to the traditional cooking technique. This tikkā is best served hot with cooling mint chutneys and is delicious in lettuce wraps as well. For lettuce wraps, dice the tofu and vegetables into smaller pieces after cooking and fill the lettuce leaves just before serving.
