The MoFaux taco is now available at Torchy’s locations nationwide!
This month, Torchy’s Tacos adds a plant-based Beyond Beef taco to its permanent menu. The fast-casual eatery originally launched the vegan-friendly taco back in June as part of a limited-time rollout in the brand’s hometown of Austin, Texas and at Torchy’s Tacos’ first digital kitchen in Columbus, Ohio. The MoFaux—which features Cowboy-style Beyond Beef topped with green chilis, grilled corn, peppadew peppers, fresh avocado, cilantro, and Diablo Sauce on a fresh-made corn tortilla—is now making a comeback, and will be available at all Torchy’s Tacos locations nationwide as a permanent menu item.
A Street Taco with a Twist
Torchy’s Tacos was established in Austin when the founder, Mike Rypka—who had a dream to provide tasty tacos to the community and beyond—bought a food trailer and a red Vespa. After a few trips around town, as well as time spent experimenting with the menu, Torchy’s Tacos was born. Torchy’s offers a street taco with a twist, as their menu features unique flavor combinations made with high-quality ingredients. Since opening in 2006, the brand continues to grow across the US with recent openings in Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
“Torchy’s is all about innovating to ensure we’re delivering the tastiest and most unique offerings in the game, and these new menu items hit the mark by providing a little something for everyone, whether you’re plant-based, have a sweet tooth, or just love damn good tacos,” Rypka told VegOut.
