The vegan Ethiopian concept is expanding this May.

Ras Plant Based, a 100% vegan Ethiopian restaurant, is set to unveil its second location in the heart of NYC’s West Village this May. Owners Romeo and Milka Regalli started Ras as a means to celebrate the multifaceted joys of food—serving up tantalizing plant-based dishes, immersive culinary adventures, and community-building experiences.

From Brooklyn Roots to Manhattan’s Bustling Streets

Established in 2020 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, Ras swiftly adapted to the challenges of the pandemic, emerging stronger than ever with a loyal following. Catering to a diverse clientele, Ras offers a delicious ode to Ethiopian cuisine, reimagining traditional flavors with a plant-based twist. Crowd favorites like the Mercato Platter offer a delightful fusion of Ethiopian sauces and spreads, paired perfectly with beloved injera. Committed to sustainability, Ras prioritizes eco-friendly practices and ethically sourced ingredients, ensuring every dish is bursting with flavor while treading lightly on the planet. Notably, Ras proudly holds the title of the only Kosher-certified Ethiopian restaurant in the US.

Milka Regalli told VegOut, “This second location is a milestone for us. We are thrilled to bring the RAS experience to the West Village to make a positive impact on everyone we serve and change our communities one plate at a time. Our mission is to redefine plant-based dining by offering creative, delicious, and sustainable dishes that inspire people to embrace a more conscious way of eating.”

Both Ras locations boast an eclectic menu, showcasing locally sourced, organic ingredients woven into flavorful Ethiopian-inspired dishes that cater to vegans and non-vegans alike. Nestled at 170 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012, the new outpost promises to enchant diners with its lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch offerings.

This expansion marks just the beginning for Ras. With ambitious plans for growth, fueled by a mission to nourish more souls, Ras is poised to leave a mark on NYC’s culinary landscape. With its dedicated following, Ras continues to captivate hearts far and wide.

A Hub of Community Connection

Beyond its culinary delights, Ras doubles as a vibrant community hub, hosting a myriad of events and workshops centered around the transformative power of food. With its inviting ambience, Ras invites guests to savor delicious meals, forge connections, and nourish both body and spirit.

Romeo Regalli said, “We believe that food is more than just sustenance—it’s a source of joy, connection, and nourishment for both body and soul.
