Vaca’s Creamery is the first 100% vegan creamery to open in Chicago! Located in Wicker Park, they offer creamy oat milk-based soft serve with your choice of toppings (chocolate chips, gluten-free cookie crumbles, a chocolate shell, and more) and house-made cones! Whether you’re in the mood for a milkshake, a sundae, or a chocolate and vanilla swirl, they have it all. Top off your order with chocolate chips, rainbow sprinkles, and a gluten-free cone. Be sure to arrive early—they do sell out.

Justice Cream is a Chicago-based, community-owned, dairy-free ice cream pop-up that donates profits from each flavor (including tres leches with strawberry, coffee with churros and chocolate ribbons, ube, and more) to social justice organizations in Chicago. Follow their social media for updates on the latest community event to snag a scoop!
Upton’s Breakroom serves nachos, burgers, and soft serve! The rotating flavors are seasonal, ranging from strawberry to vanilla to blueberry. You can order the perfect oat-based swirl in a cup or cone. Can’t find your favorite flavor? Just ask if they have a pint—quantities are limited, but you might get lucky.
RealGood Stuff Co. provides a creamy swirl without the added refined sugar or dairy. The almond milk-based treat is made with simple ingredients and sweetened with coconut nectar. They offer blue vanilla, chocolate, and rotating seasonal options, all with a variety of vegan-friendly toppings (including vegan cookie crumbles, sprinkles, and fresh fruit). Get ready for vegan options galore! Chain ice cream shop Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams serves several dairy-free flavors, including cold brew with coconut cream, Texas sheet cake, lemon bar, and caramel pecan sticky buns! Stop by one of their shops located nationwide, or have it delivered to your door by the pint. Pro tip: Their sugar cones and cake cones are vegan!
Pretty Cool Ice Cream serves plant pops that are dairy-free and vegan-friendly. Flavors include dark chocolate, blue moon, Thai tea, piña colada, and several limited-edition flavors. Check out their Instagram page for the newest flavors.
The Dairy Star soy-based swirls are perfect. The creamy soft serve sits on top of a vegan-friendly cone and is reminiscent of our childhood favorite. The non-dairy treat is available in chocolate, vanilla, and a swirl with a variety of vegan toppings.

Gelato is creamy, smooth, and available dairy-free and egg-free at Black Dog Gelato. The vegan-friendly options rotate, featuring new flavors every month.
