Graeme Richards

Writer

Graeme Richards is an Australian writer with a long-standing interest in food, sustainability, and how the two intersect. He grew up in a country shaped by drought, abundance, and the constant tension between agriculture and ecology, and that backdrop runs through everything he writes about plant-based living.

At VegOut, Graeme focuses on sustainable cuisine through an Australian lens: native ingredients, low-water farming, regenerative grazing, the politics of plant-based eating in a meat-dominant culture, and what conscious cooking looks like when you can’t pretend the climate isn’t already at the table. He is curious about the practical side, how families actually shift their diets, what works in Australian kitchens, and where industry claims about “green” food fall apart on closer inspection.

Outside writing, Graeme lives in Australia with his wife Jeanette. He is the father of Justin, Lachlan, and Brendan, all of whom now run digital media companies, which he finds both useful and slightly bewildering.
